Kobo Vs Nook

The Kobo is best described as a lesser version of a Nook, which is made by Barnes and Noble. The Kobo will offer somewhat of an indistinguishable reader experience, but generally lacks a few of the top-notch options that a Nook has, such as 3G wireless, keyboard, music player and web browser. If you are simply looking for a device that allows you to carry your reading library along with you wherever you go, then a Kobo may be a good option for you. However, if you desire more of a feature-rich product then a Nook is going to be your ideal choice.

The Differences

• Web Browser: One of the better features of a Nook is that it features a web browser. It is a somewhat basic and raw browser, but Nook users can check their email, post on their social networking sites, or browse any of their favorite internet sites at no cost, wherever you have access to Wi-Fi or 3G service. Conversely, the Kobo does not feature an internet browser.
• Wireless: The Nook not only features Wi-Fi capability, but also contains AT&T 3G wireless, which allows you to download wirelessly on the go (with no monthly fees or charges), or even when traveling to other countries. Alternatively, the Kobo doesn't feature 3G wireless capabilities, and remains limited to content syncing through the USB cable. However, the Kobo does have the ability to implement Bluetooth connectivity and wirelessly download content while connected to a supported Smartphone.
• Keyboard: The Nook features a full QWERTY keyboard that is very handy for note taking or accessing content quickly. However, the Kobo does not feature a keyboard and is virtually useless when it comes to things like jotting down notes.
• Audio Player: This is a fairly straightforward comparison. The Nook can play music through a speaker or plugged in headphones, whereas the Kobo does not have any on-board music player.
